Gulf Breeze Zoo doesn’t list a discount for individual teachers. What teachers get is free admission when they come with a booked school group: the field trips page lists Teachers as Free on both of its packages, while students are $12 or $15 each.

If you’re planning a class day at the zoo, that means the teachers walking with the group don’t pay, and the cost comes down to your students and chaperones. Here’s how the booking works and what each package covers.

How To Get The Gulf Breeze Zoo Teacher Discount

The field trips page defines a field trip group as 15 or more paying guests from a K-12 public or private school or organization, made up of students, teachers and chaperones. Your group has to visit the zoo Monday through Friday and book in advance to receive these rates. The zoo is open 7 days a week, but the field trip rates only apply on weekdays.

A $50 deposit is required to confirm your reservation, and the page says your group reservation isn’t finalized until the signed group contract has been returned and the deposit has been received. It strongly recommends scheduling your visit a minimum of 4 weeks in advance because space fills up quickly. For help, the page lists (866) 620-1825, extension 101, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

What The Two Packages Include

The Safari Package costs $12 for each student and $18 for each chaperone. It includes all-day admission to the zoo, a small cup of petting zoo feed for each child and a 15-minute guided Safari Line Limited Train Ride. Teachers are free, and the page notes that the free teacher to student ratio is 1:10.

The ZOOventure Package is $15 for each student and $21 for each chaperone. It includes everything in the Safari Package, plus 1 Giraffe Romaine Leaf and 1 Budgie Stick. Teachers are free here too, with the same 1:10 ratio.

The page describes the day as 50 acres of one-of-a-kind learning adventures, and it says field trips are self-guided, so learning can happen at your own pace. The guided part of the day is the 15-minute train ride included in both packages.

Visiting On Your Own

If you’re going with your own family instead of a class, we found no teacher price on the zoo’s tickets and hours page, its membership page or its FAQ page. Day passes are listed at $29.95 for adults (13-64), $27.95 for seniors (65+) and $22.95 for children (2-12), and children under 2 are free.

The tickets page also says military and law enforcement receive 15% off admission, with a Military ID required, and that groups of 15+ receive $1 off each ticket.

Cash Back Routes We Checked

Fluz lists 1.5% cashback at Gulf Breeze Zoo with a Fluz virtual card, and its page adds that the offer is valid only at official store locations. We didn’t test whether the zoo’s ticket checkout takes a Fluz card. We didn’t find a TopCashback page for the zoo, and Rakuten’s address for it loads a general page instead of a store page.

What We Couldn’t Confirm

The field trips page prices teachers only inside a booked group of 15 or more paying guests, so we couldn’t find a free teacher rate for a smaller class or a single teacher. It also doesn’t say whether the zoo asks for a school ID or any proof when your group arrives. We didn’t submit a reservation or call the zoo to ask.
