Guitar Center doesn’t list a discount for individual teachers. What its pages offer schools is GC Pro Education, a consultation for educators and institutions, along with partner-school programs and purchase orders. We also couldn’t find a Music Educator Program or a Teacher Discount Card on guitarcenter.com, and its FAQ search for “teacher” returns “No Results Found.”
If you’re buying gear for a music room, the school routes are below. If you’re buying for yourself, the offers that exist for lesson students and military members are under Shopping On Your Own, and neither names teachers.
How To Get The Guitar Center Teacher Discount
There’s no teacher discount to apply for. The GC Pro Education page says “Guitar Center Professional takes pride in supporting educators and institutions. Schools have a wide variety of audiovisual needs.” It tells you to “Schedule a consultation for help meeting any audiovisual challenge,” and it gives 877-687-5404 as the number to call. No rate or percent off appears on the page, so you’ll learn pricing from the GC Pro team after you reach out.
Partner Schools And Purchase Orders
The Education Affiliates page says “Whether you’re a student, a faculty member, or an administrator at an educational institution that’s recognized for training in music, audio, multimedia, and related fields, GC Pro wants to hear from you.” It adds that Guitar Center has set up special programs with the schools listed, allowing their students easy access to account managers for personalized consultation on new gear.
For a school that wants to buy on account, Guitar Center’s purchase orders page says “GuitarCenter.com accepts purchase orders from public and private corporations, as well as governmental institutions (such as schools, military, cities, etc.).”
Shopping On Your Own
The Lessons student deals page says GC Lessons students are eligible to receive 20% off all full-price Guitar Center private brand exclusive items. It’s for currently enrolled students only, it can’t be used with any other coupons, promotions or Lessons offers, and it’s valid for purchases made in person at Guitar Center Lessons locations or online at GuitarCenter.com. Teachers aren’t named on it.
The military page says veterans and active service members can enjoy 10% off a single item of $199+, and it extends the offer to active duty and veteran members of the United States Armed Forces. It doesn’t mention teachers either.
Cash Back Routes We Checked
Fluz’s Guitar Center page says buying a gift card earns 7% cashback, with e-gift cards available from $25 to $500 and redeemable in-store and online. Rates change, so check the percentage on Fluz before you buy.
Rakuten has a Guitar Center page whose title reads “Guitar Center Coupons, Promo Codes & No Cash Back.” TopCashback has a Guitar Center page too, but it didn’t show a Guitar Center rate when we loaded it, so we can’t tell you what it pays.
What We Couldn’t Confirm
No rate is published for GC Pro Education, the partner-school programs or purchase orders, so we can’t say what a school would save. We also couldn’t confirm whether a K-12 music teacher would qualify under the partner-school programs, since the page describes institutions recognized for training in music, audio, multimedia and related fields. We didn’t buy a Fluz gift card, so we can’t say how it works at the register.
