GoPro gives verified teachers 5% off GoPro products in the US, through ID.me. Its ID.me page says to enjoy 5% off GoPro products for all verified military and veterans, first responders, medical professionals, government workers and teachers, so this is a shared offer and not a teachers-only one. The page also says “Only in the US. Restrictions apply. See details below,” and we couldn’t find those details.
If you’ve been thinking about a camera for field trips, a school video club or your own weekends, here’s how the verification works and what GoPro leaves unsaid.
How To Get The GoPro Teacher Discount
GoPro says to click the Verify with ID.me button at the top of the page and follow the instructions to create an account, verify your email address and get verified. Its three steps are verify, shop and save: discounts are applied to products automatically, and the final discounted prices are reflected at checkout. GoPro says your discount is then applied to the items as you add them to your cart.
The page says verifying your affiliation to an eligible group activates your discount on GoPro.com, so this is an online offer. You don’t enter a code. The page describes the discount as automatic once you’re verified.
Who Counts As A Teacher
GoPro’s page uses the single word teachers. It doesn’t say whether that includes K-12 teachers, college instructors, school staff or homeschool parents, and ID.me does the verifying. ID.me’s GoPro Global page says GoPro Global has a Teachers discount and/or cash back offer, which matches what GoPro’s own page says.
What GoPro Doesn’t Say
The page promises restriction details below the offer, and we found no restriction text anywhere on it. It doesn’t say whether the 5% can be combined with a sale price or another offer, whether certain products are left out, how many items you can buy at the discount or when the offer ends.
GoPro’s Deals and Discounts page doesn’t mention the ID.me offer, teachers or Black Friday, so we can’t say how a holiday sale and your 5% fit together. Check your cart before you pay.
What We Couldn’t Confirm
We didn’t verify through ID.me or place an order, so we can’t say which cameras and accessories take the discount or what your cart shows.
