BritBox doesn’t have a teacher discount. Its own help center says so in plain words, and the one route to paying less that we could confirm is cash back: Fluz lists 9% back when you buy a BritBox gift card.
If you’ve been saving up evenings of British mysteries for a long weekend, or you want to know whether a school email gets you anything on the subscription, here’s what BritBox says and how the gift card route works.
How To Get The BritBox Teacher Discount
There isn’t one to claim. BritBox’s help center article Does BritBox offer special or community discounts? says that at this time BritBox does not offer special discounts for teachers, students, military members, first responders, healthcare workers, or other community groups. It adds that BritBox has offered special promotions for select groups in the past, but these offers are not currently available, and that any future offers would be shared on its website and other official BritBox channels.
What you can do instead is buy a BritBox gift card through Fluz and earn cash back on it. Fluz says to buy a gift card to earn 9% cashback at Britbox, and the button below goes there. BritBox’s gift card help article says a gift card is redeemed at britbox.com/redeem, and that the subscription begins once you redeem the card with its code and PIN, not when you buy it.
What BritBox Costs
BritBox’s home page offers a 7-day free trial. After the trial the Monthly plan is $10.99/month and the Annual plan is $109.99/year, which the page describes as 12 months for the price of 10. The Premier plan is $149.99/year and is billed immediately.
The annual plan is the one to look at if you already know you’ll keep watching, since that’s the one the page frames as a saving.
What The Gift Card Terms Say
Fluz sells Britbox e-gift cards from $25 to $250 that are redeemable online only. Its specifications say the card is for the United States only, is non-refundable and does not expire, and its terms say it’s redeemable in the United States only for authorized goods at www.britbox.com.
On BritBox’s side, the help center says a credit card is needed to set up a BritBox account when you redeem a gift card, and that your card details are stored until your subscription is due to renew once your gift card balance is depleted. It also says you can redeem up to two gift cards on your account at the same time. If you don’t want to renew, you’d cancel before the card runs out, so keep an eye on the date.
Other Cash Back Sources
We didn’t find a TopCashback page for BritBox, and Rakuten’s address for it loads a general page instead of a store page, so neither gives us a rate to report. Rates change, so check the number on Fluz before you buy.
What We Couldn’t Confirm
We didn’t buy a card or redeem one, so we can’t say how long the Fluz card takes to arrive or whether it redeems cleanly at britbox.com/redeem. BritBox’s help center says its gift cards go up to $200.00 while Fluz lists cards up to $250, and we couldn’t tell from either page why the figures differ. We also didn’t test how a gift card interacts with the 7-day free trial.
