SiriusXM doesn’t have a teacher discount that we could find. Its offers page lists a student plan and a military discount, and the route we could confirm for teachers is cash back: Fluz lists 6.5% back when you buy a SiriusXM gift card.
If you listen on the commute to school and want to pay less for it, here’s what SiriusXM publishes about its plans, who its discounts are for, and how the gift card route works.
How To Get The SiriusXM Teacher Discount
There isn’t a teacher rate to claim. SiriusXM’s deals and offers page has no teacher or educator wording in our read of it. It has a section headed OUR STUDENT-ONLY OFFER and a military discount, which it describes as its top plan at 25% off. We also tried siriusxm.com/teachers and siriusxm.com/educators, and both returned a not-found page.
The student plan is not written for teachers. Its offer page offers $1 for 3 months, then $4/mo., and says you must be at least 18 and currently enrolled in a United States based, degree granting, accredited school of higher education. It uses SheerID to verify eligibility and requires a credit card. If you’re also taking college classes, that page is the one to read. For everyone else, the button below goes to Fluz, the cash back route we could confirm.
What SiriusXM Costs
The offers page lists the All Music plan with the first 3 months for $1, then $11.99/mo., and the All Access plan with the first 3 months for $1, then $25.99/mo. If a student plan lapses on re-verification, the student page says the subscription renews at the full-priced monthly rate, currently $11.99/month.
What The Gift Card Terms Say
Fluz sells SiriusXM e-gift cards from $15 to $200 that are redeemable online only. Its specifications say the card is for the United States only and is non-refundable. To redeem it, the terms say to go to www.siriusxm.com/myaccount, and Fluz’s instructions say to enter your digital gift card code and select Apply.
The card terms say it’s redeemable toward a new or existing subscription to any SiriusXM service, and not for the purchase of hardware, which is sold separately.
Other Cash Back Sources
TopCashback has a SiriusXM page, but we didn’t record a rate from it, so check the number there yourself. Rakuten’s address for SiriusXM loads a general page instead of a store page, so there’s no Rakuten rate to report. Rates change, so check the number on Fluz before you buy.
What We Couldn’t Confirm
We didn’t buy a Fluz card or redeem one, so we can’t say how quickly it arrives or whether it can be applied during a $1 introductory offer. SiriusXM may offer educators something that isn’t on its offers page, and its help center is the place to ask.
