Teachers deserve to travel, and some hotels are making it easier with teacher discounts.
Disney Springs, a collection of resorts within Walt Disney World’s complex, offers an ongoing teacher discount on many properties such as Hilton Orlando and Holiday Inn. While these discounts may not be as substantial as those at true Disney resorts, you can still save money during your stay.
Marriott hotels offer teachers a government rate, so just show your school ID at check-in to take advantage of this special discount. Additional perks include complimentary breakfast, self-parking for one car and Wi-Fi internet access.
Other hotel chains also provide government rates to educators. While some may require you to prove your teacher status, most don’t.
STA Travel offers educators a discount on flights with its services, plus International Teacher Identity Cards (ITICs). With these cards, educators have access to even greater savings and benefits.
Cruise lines offer teachers discounts that vary by destination. While these savings may not be as substantial as those provided by major airlines, they can still prove beneficial when planning vacations or other excursions.
Some theme parks provide teachers with free admission, provided they present a valid school ID and pay stub. Some tickets are only valid for certain dates or attractions, while others last the entire year and can be used at no cost regardless of how long you spend in the park.
