How To Get The Disney+ Teacher Discount
There’s no teacher rate to claim, so here’s how to get one-time cash back from Rakuten when you sign up:
- Join Rakuten for free and search for Disney+.
- Click through to Disney+ from Rakuten and pick the plan you want. The cash back amount depends on the plan, and it’s listed on Rakuten’s Disney+ page.
- Subscribe as usual. Rakuten adds the cash back to your account once Disney+ confirms your payment.
Cash back here is a single payout, not a rate on every bill. Rakuten pays once per member, and Disney+ free trials don’t earn it, so the payout comes after you start paying. Check the plan and the cash back amount on the page before you subscribe.
The Disney+ Student Discount
If you do qualify as a student, here’s how it works on Disney+’s student page:
- Create a Disney+ account with your email, a password and your date of birth.
- Verify your student status through SheerID with your full school name and your school or personal email address.
- Buy the discounted bundle.
The price is $6.49 a month for the ad-supported Disney+, Hulu bundle, and it lasts as long as your enrollment stays verified. After that it goes to the regular price, $12.99 a month. You have to be enrolled at a U.S. university or an accredited post-secondary school, and ESPN subscribers and people billed through HBO Max aren’t eligible. A teacher who isn’t taking classes doesn’t qualify.
Other Cash Back Routes
TopCashback, $7.50. It also pays once and doesn’t repeat on monthly or annual plans. It doesn’t pay on free trials or when you use a coupon code that isn’t shown on TopCashback.
Fluz, 3.5% on gift cards. You buy a Disney+ e-gift card through Fluz and pay with it. On a bundle that costs $12.99 a month, 3.5% is a lot less than the flat payouts above, so Rakuten and TopCashback are the better first look for a new sign-up.
