discovery+ doesn’t have a teacher discount that we could find. Its own site had a student offer and a military offer, and both say they ended in 2023. What we could confirm for saving money is Fluz, which lists 1.5% cashback at discovery Plus when you pay with a Fluz virtual card.
An older version of this post pointed teachers to coupons and a valid teacher ID, and none of that is on discovery+’s pages. Below is what the service itself says, what we checked on each cash back site, and the part we couldn’t confirm.
How To Get The discovery+ Teacher Discount
There’s no teacher rate to claim. discovery+’s home page lists plans starting at $5.99 per month, offers a free trial to new subscribers, and has no teacher or educator wording in our read of it. ID.me has no page for discovery+ at all, so there’s nothing there to check.
The two discounts the site once had are closed. Its student offer terms say the discovery+ student subscription offer is no longer available, effective in 2023, and its military offer terms say the same about the military offer. Those terms now apply only to people who signed up before then, so a teacher can’t start either one.
On whether discovery+ has been folded into HBO Max: its own home page still sells discovery+ plans under its own name, with no HBO or Max wording on it that we could find. We didn’t find a statement either way about a future change, so we’re treating discovery+ as its own service.
That leaves cash back as the route we could confirm. The button below goes to Fluz, and the next sections cover what each cash back site shows and what we couldn’t check.
What The Cash Back Sources Say
Fluz. The Fluz discovery Plus page is titled “1.5% cashback at discovery Plus” and says you get 1.5% cashback at discovery Plus with a Fluz virtual card. We didn’t create a card or pay for a plan with one, so we can’t say whether discovery+ accepts a virtual card at sign-up or how the cash back shows up.
Rakuten. The address for discovery+ on Rakuten shows Rakuten’s generic page title, which means there’s no discovery+ store page there and no rate to report.
TopCashback. The discovery+ address on TopCashback returns a page not found, so there’s nothing to report from it either.
What We Couldn’t Confirm
We didn’t subscribe or pay with a Fluz card, so we can’t say how a purchase would look. discovery+ may run a school or district program that its public pages don’t mention, and a message to its help center at help.discoveryplus.com is the way to ask.
