San Diegans love attending the fair each summer, but it can also be expensive. To save on admission prices for this year’s fair – running through July 4 – here are a few ways that San Diegans can reduce costs.

Kids 12 and under gain entry free any day of the fair. Additionally, those reading for admission may bring 10 age-appropriate books (verified by a teacher or librarian) and present them at ticket booths on Tuesdays or any day during the fair (regular child admission is $12).

Teachers and school staff can take advantage of School Staff Appreciation Days on June 17 and 24 for two tickets for the price of one! To participate, bring in either your teacher ID or pay stub before June ends to any Mission Federal Credit Union branch before then.

Military members can get two complimentary fair tickets on Friday, June 3 from base ticket offices – this offer applies to active duty soldiers, reservists, retirees and DoD family members alike!

Albertsons and Vons stores with $10 minimum purchases will offer $5 fair tickets starting on May 31; June 1; and June 5. In Del Mar Albertsons at 2707 Via de la Valle will sell $4 tickets on Tuesday June 11. Regular adult admission costs $14 and public transit riders can purchase a Fair Tripper Pass that includes round-trip bus or Coaster transportation as well as fair admission for $17.
