Crunchyroll doesn’t have a teacher discount that we could find, and its home page has no teacher, educator, student or school wording on it. Rakuten does have a Crunchyroll page, and its title lists $7 cash back, which is the one saving we found.
Crunchyroll is an anime streaming service. If you’re comparing it with another subscription, the number to use is the Fan plan, since it’s the cheapest one on the page.
How To Get The Crunchyroll Teacher Discount
There isn’t a teacher rate to claim. We read Crunchyroll’s home page and found no teacher, educator, student or school wording anywhere on it. What the page offers everyone is a 7-day free trial, which it says is valid for new and eligible subscribers, and it says you may cancel at any time. The cash back route is the one saving we could find for a paying subscription.
What The Plans Cost
The home page lists three plans, each plus applicable taxes. Fan is $9.99 a month and streams on 1 device at a time. Mega Fan is $13.99 a month and streams on 4 devices at a time, and it’s the plan that lists access to the Crunchyroll Store with free shipping on orders of $50 or more. Ultimate Fan is $17.99 a month, streams on 6 devices at a time, and lists an exclusive swag bag after 12 consecutive months of subscription. The page also shows a yearly option that saves 16%.
For a teacher watching alone, Fan covers it. The higher plans make sense when several people in a house are streaming at once, or when you’d use the store shipping.
Cash Back Routes We Checked
Rakuten’s Crunchyroll page is titled “Crunchyroll Coupons, Promo Codes & $7 Cash Back.” We read that off the page title and didn’t open the terms, so we can’t say whether the $7 applies to every purchase or only to a first subscription. Fluz and TopCashback have no Crunchyroll page at the addresses we tried. That leaves one portal and one number, so check the terms on Rakuten before you subscribe.
What We Couldn’t Confirm
We didn’t start the free trial, so we can’t tell you whether it asks for a card up front. We also didn’t open Rakuten’s terms for the $7. The home page says restrictions and other terms apply, including changes to prices, discounts, content and features, so what you see at checkout is the number to trust. Crunchyroll could offer educators something through its help center that isn’t on its home page, and a short message to its support team is the way to find out.
