Three car rental companies show a teacher offer on ID.me, and a fourth has one through a separate verification service. Hertz, Dollar and Budget each list “Up to 25% Off for Teachers” on ID.me, and Sixt lists up to 15% off through GoCertify. ID.me says it isn’t aware of one at Enterprise, Avis or Thrifty, and neither Alamo nor National publishes a teacher program.

How To Get The Car Rental Teacher Discount
Hertz, Dollar and Budget. ID.me’s teacher pages for all three answer yes, each “has a Teachers discount and/or cash back offer.” ID.me’s help center says the ID.me button “most often displays at checkout” on the retailer’s site. Dollar’s and Budget’s ID.me pages show the same “Up to 25% Off” line for military, nurses, first responders, government employees, medical providers, students and alumni too, so it’s a shared ceiling, not a teacher-only rate. Sixt. GoCertify’s Sixt page says “Up to 15% off for Teachers & Education Staff” and to verify your employment. Its terms list a rental length of 3 to 27 days, all vehicle categories, and rentals worldwide, with full terms on Sixt’s website once you’re verified. GoCertify runs the verification and says to use the email your school supplied. Sixt’s own website refused our fetch, so we couldn’t read it, and the terms Sixt shows after you verify are the ones to read.
If You’re An AFT Member
AFT’s car rental page says members and their families save up to 35% at Avis, Budget, Dollar, Hertz, Payless and Thrifty, and up to 20% at Enterprise and National. Union Plus, which AFT links to, says to reserve through it. Our AFT membership guide covers who’s eligible and how to join.
Where A Teacher Discount Isn’t Confirmed
Enterprise, Avis and Thrifty. ID.me says “We are not aware of Enterprise offering Teachers community discounts,” and “We’re not aware that” Avis or Thrifty Rent-A-Car offers Teachers discounts. Avis has its own “Car Rental Discounts for Teachers” page with $15 off 3 days, 25% off 5 days or more and 10% off local rentals, but it mentions no code or verification step. Alamo and National. ID.me Shop has no Teachers page for Alamo, and Alamo’s deals, partners and government pages don’t name teachers. Alamo does have free Insiders membership at 5% off base rates on pay later reservations. National’s government and affinity pages name federal employees and unspecified “club and association members,” not teachers. See Alamo.
Zipcar and U-Haul. Zipcar’s discounted memberships come through its university program for students, faculty and staff, and alumni. See our Zipcar guide. On U-Haul, ID.me says “We’re not aware that Uhaul offers Teachers discounts.” See U-Haul.
Beyond Rentals: Gas Station Discounts
7-Eleven. ID.me lists an extra 5 cents a gallon for teachers, and 7-Eleven’s terms say to verify under “Community Discounts” in the 7-Eleven app. The discount covers fill-ups of up to 25 gallons, and 7-Eleven says it can end the promotion at any time.
RaceTrac. RaceTrac’s Community Offers page says teachers can verify through ID.me in the RaceTrac Rewards app. The only offer that page spells out is for first responders, a free drink or coffee daily, so what teachers get isn’t stated there.

Start from the company’s own page or ID.me instead. Enterprise, for one, says its 3+ day offer is only available through an email link, its deals page or its app.
