Renting cars can be invaluable when traveling for school or simply exploring the town, and many major car rental companies provide discounts to teachers. You may need a promotional code or special coupon code in order to access these deals, while others simply require showing your teacher ID card. Here are a few tips to save you money on your next rental:

National:

NEA members can save up to 20 percent with National, which offers discounts in many locations around North America and worldwide. You can find this discount on the company website under their “Specials” page; BJ’s Wholesale Club and Costco warehouse clubs may also provide National discounts to their members; while Disney World partners with them to provide Annual Passholder benefits that they can find under “Special Passholder Benefits.”

Hertz: In addition to their partnership with NEA, Hertz offers all educators a 25 percent discount and will donate five percent of rental charges back to Make-a-Wish.

Avis:

Avis offers educators and students significant savings of up to 25 percent on base rates at many airport and city locations throughout the U.S. Additionally, for every reservation made by educators or students using Avis they donate $1 towards Alex’s Lemonade Stand!
