The page says that to qualify for teacher discounts through ID.me, you must be a current U.S. educator in one of the roles it lists, and it points to ID.me’s teacher eligibility article for the full details. ID.me’s store listing for BJ’s says Teachers get a $10 welcome bonus when they join for just $25 (usually $60).
After you enroll, the page says a $10 reward (for BJ’s Club members) or a $20 reward (for BJ’s Club+ members) is added to the primary membership account 24 hours after enrollment, to be used within 30 days from the date of enrollment. If it isn’t redeemed, it’s no longer available. To redeem it, your rewards balance has to be at least $10 and you need to make a purchase of at least $10 before taxes, fees, discounts or coupons. You can use rewards at the front-end register in-club, on BJs.com or in the BJ’s app.
Rewards can’t be used for tobacco products, alcoholic beverages, gift cards, membership gifts, miscellaneous fees, bottle deposits, lottery sales, taxes or mail orders. The offer can’t be combined with other offers or redeemed for cash, and ID.me’s listing adds that it’s nontransferable.
Who Counts As An Educator

Classroom teachers from Pre-K through 12 include certified teachers, substitute teachers, teacher aides and assistants and paraprofessionals, plus specialized subject teachers such as speech-language pathologists, music and arts teachers and athletic coaches. Principals, vice principals, headmasters, superintendents and assistant superintendents are on the list too.
School staff and support count as well: librarians, occupational therapists, school guidance counselors, nurses, psychologists, social workers and other school employees such as cafeteria, maintenance, office and IT staff. Higher education faculty are included, meaning college and university professors, adjunct faculty, instructors, lecturers and trade school instructors.
The page says child care providers, non-faculty college and university employees, retired teachers, teachers with expired credentials and uncertified homeschool teachers aren’t eligible.
What The Membership Includes
The page advertises saving up to 25% off grocery store prices and a 100% money-back guarantee on the membership. For Club+, it lists rewards that never expire, 2% back in rewards on most BJ’s purchases, 5¢ off a gallon at BJ’s Gas, 2 free same-day deliveries on orders of $50 or more and free curbside pickup. The page marks several of those with footnotes whose terms we didn’t read, so check them before you pay for the higher tier.
What We Couldn’t Confirm
The page doesn’t say what an educator pays when the membership renews. It describes the offer as a 1-year membership with Easy Renewal, and its FAQ says Easy Renewal charges an authorized debit or credit card the then-current membership fee each year, so look at the renewal terms before you enroll. The terms also print an expiration date for the offer, so check the page for the current one.
