We didn’t find a K-12 teacher discount at B&H Photo. B&H’s one education program, EDU Advantage, is for college-level students and educators in the USA, and its pages don’t name K-12 teachers anywhere. We also looked for B&H on Fluz, Rakuten and TopCashback and found no store page on any of them, so there’s no cash back route to send you to either.
If you were hoping to pick up a camera for the yearbook club or a laptop for your own planning, that isn’t the answer you wanted. Here’s what B&H does say, who the program is for, and the one way it points educators to ask.
How To Get The B&H Photo Teacher Discount
There isn’t a K-12 teacher discount to claim. B&H’s EDU Advantage page describes a discount program for College Students & Faculty and says to verify your student or educator status by joining UNiDAYS. The help page says you must be a current college student or college educator at an accredited college or university in the USA, and that approved independent programs are also accepted. You also have to be a USA resident or have a USA shipping address.
The help page tells educators to get in touch: “If you are an educator, please contact us and a program representative will be happy to assist you.” The EDU page has an “Educator? Contact Us” prompt under its student sign-up button. Because both pages define the program at the college level, a K-12 teacher who writes in is asking B&H for an exception, and nothing on the pages says one exists. The button below goes to the EDU page, in case you also teach at a college or in an approved independent program.
What EDU Advantage Covers
The EDU page headlines “Save Up to 40%” for people who join by verifying with UNiDAYS. The help page says the program is vendor-based, which means the discounts will vary from item to item, and that the discount is automatically applied to any and all eligible items within the portal. Membership is free and good for 2 years, with the option to renew if eligible. Those figures are for the people the program names, college students and educators, so don’t read the 40% as a teacher rate.
If You Teach K-12
One line on the help page can look like good news. Under “For Teachers” it says “You, too, can take advantage of all the student discount pricing as an educator.” The same page says the program is for college-level students and educators, and its eligibility line asks for a college educator at an accredited college or university, so we read that sentence as college teaching staff.
B&H also runs a business page for government, education and corporate accounts, with State | Local | K-12 among its organization types. The help page sends bulk purchases for a school to that Government, Education & Corporate section. That’s an account for an organization, and the page doesn’t mention teachers at all, so it isn’t a personal discount.
Cash Back Routes We Checked
Fluz and TopCashback both return a page-not-found at the B&H addresses we tried, and Rakuten’s B&H address loads its general page, titled “Rakuten: Shop. Get Cash Back. Repeat.” instead of a store page. We didn’t find a B&H cash back route to recommend. A listing under a different name could exist, and we can’t rule that out.
What We Couldn’t Confirm
B&H’s pages don’t say whether a K-12 teacher who contacts B&H can join, so we can’t tell you what you’d hear back. The two pages also describe different sign-up methods: the EDU page uses UNiDAYS verification, and the help page describes an application with copies of your school ID and current class schedule. We can’t say which one B&H uses today. Neither page lists excluded products or says anything about a holiday sale. We didn’t contact B&H or join the program.
