Austin Aquarium lets teachers in free. The ticket page says teachers get in free with valid ID, that no ticket is needed, and that you show your ID at the door. It words the offer as “Teachers”, and in our read of the page there’s no state, district or grade-level limit attached.

Maybe you’re sketching out a Saturday there with your own kids, or sizing the place up for a class trip. The one wrinkle is that two of the aquarium’s pages ask for slightly different ID, so here’s what each one says.

How To Get The Austin Aquarium Teacher Discount

Show your ID at the door. The ticket page doesn’t ask you to buy anything first, and there’s no code or form to find. It says “valid ID” and doesn’t name the kind. The field-trip page is more specific: it says all state-certified teachers with a teacher ID badge pay no admission, and its booking form says to enter free with a state-certified teacher ID. A school-issued teacher badge is the closest match to what that page names, so that’s the one we’d bring.

The home page repeats the ticket page: teachers and first responders always get in free with valid ID.

Who Counts As A Teacher

The ticket page and the home page both say “Teachers” with valid ID, and neither says whether that means K-12, public or private school, homeschool or college faculty. The field-trip page narrows it to state-certified teachers. First responders are named right alongside teachers on both pages, with the same free entry.

Bringing A Class

The field-trip page is for student groups of 10 or more, Pre-K through college. Certified teachers and bus drivers on the booking are free, and the page asks for at least 1 certified teacher or chaperone for every 15 students. Extra chaperones pay full admission, and guardians and non-certified teachers get their own payment link instead of going on the school invoice.

The page says final field-trip pricing is confirmed by staff once they’ve reviewed your booking details, so we’re leaving a per-student price out rather than print one that may shift.

What Everyone Else Pays

On the ticket page, Single-Day admission is $24.95 and a Season Pass is $49.95. The pages don’t say whether free teacher entry extends to anyone who comes with you, so if you’re bringing family, plan on buying their tickets. Austin Aquarium is at 13530 N. Hwy 183 #101, Austin, TX 78750.

What We Couldn’t Confirm

The ticket page says valid ID but not which kind, and we didn’t find a page that says whether a school badge without a certification gets you in. We also couldn’t tell whether teachers at private schools or colleges, or homeschool teachers, count for an individual visit, or whether the offer covers the people with you. We didn’t see a limit on how often you can use it. If you’d rather ask before a long drive, the home page lists info@austinaquarium.com.

Q&A

Do teachers get in free at Austin Aquarium?
Yes. The ticket page says teachers get in free with valid ID, no ticket needed, and that you show your ID at the door.

What ID do I bring?
The ticket page says valid ID. The field-trip page names a state-certified teacher ID badge. A teacher badge from your school is the safest thing to carry.

Is it only for state-certified teachers?
The field-trip page says so for school groups. The ticket and home pages don’t add that limit, but they don’t say who else counts either.

Do the people with me get in free?
The pages don’t say. Single-Day admission is $24.95 for everyone else.

Are first responders free too?
Yes. Both the ticket page and the home page name teachers and first responders together.

What if I’m bringing a whole class?
Use the field-trip page. Groups start at 10 students, certified teachers and bus drivers are free, and extra chaperones pay full admission.
