Atlanta Botanical Garden doesn’t list a standing discount for teachers. What it ran was an Educator Appreciation Evening for metro-Atlanta teachers, with free admission for an educator plus one guest, and the event page now says “This event has passed.”

If you work for Atlanta Public Schools, there’s a separate program to look at: the garden’s Explore membership, which sells for $20 to verified employees of four Atlanta organizations. It isn’t a teacher program as such, and we cover who qualifies below.

How To Get The Atlanta Botanical Garden Teacher Discount

Right now there’s no teacher discount to claim at the ticket desk. The garden’s pages list one teacher event, the Educator Appreciation Evening, and it says the event has passed.

Separately, the Explore page describes a membership benefit for verified employees of the following Atlanta organizations: Atlanta Public Schools, City of Atlanta, Grady Health System and MARTA. Employees of those organizations are eligible to buy a Family level membership for two adults and children under 18 for only $20, which the page says is a $135 value.

The page says the fee updates to $20 after you complete the employment information form and add your employer-specific promo code on the checkout page. A current, active employment status and a valid employee email is required as a condition of membership, and the membership isn’t available for purchase at Garden Admissions.

What The Explore Membership Includes

The page lists unlimited admission for 12 months for two adults, plus children and grandchildren under 18, and four one-time guest passes (a $130 value). It also says only one membership per employee is permitted.

How The Educator Appreciation Evening Worked

The event page invited metro-Atlanta teachers to a complimentary summer evening planned just for them, and said educators with ID plus one guest receive free admission. It asked current teachers, school administrators and community educators to show a school ID or verification of educator status on arrival, and said parking isn’t included with free admission.

The event ran 4 to 9 p.m., with last entry at 8 p.m. Additional adult tickets were listed at $28.95 and additional child tickets (ages 3 to 12) at $25.95.

School Groups

The tickets page says the Garden offers discounted docent-led and self-guided group visits in Atlanta and Gainesville, and that pre-registration is required.

Visiting On Your Own

The tickets page lists no teacher rate for an individual visit. It does say that a Garden membership’s unlimited daytime admission pays off in just two or three visits.

What We Couldn’t Confirm

The event page says the event has passed and doesn’t say whether it will return, and we didn’t find another educator event on the tickets page. The Explore page names four organizations and doesn’t mention teachers, so teachers who work for other districts or schools should check with the garden before counting on it. The tickets page says group visits are discounted but doesn’t give a rate in the text we read.
