DAM is located on 14th Avenue Parkway and only minutes from Denver’s vibrant downtown. The campus includes historic Gio Ponti-designed Martin Building as well as modern masterpieces like Daniel Libeskind’s Frederic C. Hamilton Building which features titanium exterior cladding.
The DAM houses one of the largest and most extensive collections between Chicago and California, spanning European and American painting, sculpture and decorative arts collections as well as American Indian, Indigenous Asian and Western artworks.
DAM relies heavily on donations from private donors; an outstanding example is a local schoolteacher who left her entire collection to the institution upon her passing in 1928.
The DAM is an organization with staff from multiple fields of expertise that seeks to engage visitors with art by harnessing its power to transform lives through art and creativity. Their goal is to engage visitors in art experiences that foster transformative experiences for visitors of all kinds.
