At Home 💵

At Home doesn’t list a teacher discount that we could find. The Discounts and Sales section of its help center covers email alerts, military discounts and price adjustments, a search there for “teacher” comes back empty, and ID.me says it isn’t aware of At Home offering Teachers community discounts. What a teacher can get is what any shopper gets: TopCashback says “Get 2% of the price back,” and Rakuten shows 2% Cash Back.

If you’re setting up a reading corner or picking up decor before the holidays, it helps to know that before you ask at the register about a teacher rate that isn’t listed. There’s also a free loyalty program that doesn’t need a cash back portal, and we’ve covered it below.

How To Get The At Home Teacher Discount

There’s no teacher discount to claim, so there’s no verification step. The one group discount in that help center section is for military: At Home’s military article says it’s proud to offer a 10% discount to active and retired service members and their families. It also says military discounts are currently only available for in-store purchases and can’t be redeemed for online or Buy Online, Pick Up In Store purchases. That one isn’t for teachers.

The cash back is the part that’s on offer. TopCashback’s page says to sign up for free and just shop as normal, and says its rates may vary depending on the day or time of year, so read the number on the page the day you order. The button below goes to TopCashback.

Design Rewards

Design Rewards isn’t a teacher program, and its help center article doesn’t mention teachers. The Design Rewards article says the program is free to join and lets you earn points on qualifying purchases, then redeem them for $10 Reward Certificates to use on future purchases. Base Members earn 4 points for every $1 spent, and a Reward Certificate is a $10 promotional coupon you receive for every 1,000 points earned. At the Base Member rate, that works out to a $10 certificate for every $250 you spend.

The fine print matters for big orders. The article says points are earned after discounts are applied, excluding taxes, shipping, fees and gift cards, and that certificates are valid for 90 days from the date they’re issued. It also says certificates can be combined with other promotions unless otherwise noted.

Cash Back Routes We Checked

TopCashback and Rakuten both show 2%, and Fluz lists 1.5% cashback at At Home with a Fluz virtual card. Fluz’s offer terms say “Valid only at official store locations,” and its FAQ says you verify your account with identity verification and link a bank account to fund purchases before you can use a virtual card.

Two catches apply across the portals. Rakuten says Cash Back is not available on purchases made with gift cards, and it says using coupon codes that are not listed on Rakuten may void Cash Back. TopCashback lists use of a coupon code not displayed on TopCashback as an exclusion. If you want a code and the cash back together, take the code from the portal’s own page.

What We Couldn’t Confirm

athome.com itself wouldn’t open for us. We read At Home’s help center instead, so its promotions pages and terms are unread, and a teacher offer that lives only there wouldn’t have shown up for us. We also didn’t place an order, so we can’t say whether a portal purchase also earns Design Rewards points.
