How To Get The Aga Khan Museum Teacher Discount
There isn’t a teacher discount code or a school ID route to claim, so the practical route is booking a school program. The on-site field trips page lists the half-day program, which is one tour and one hands-on workshop, at $8 per student. The full-day program, which is one tour and two hands-on workshops, is $16 per student. The page says the programs are available for Pre-K to Grade 12 and that they align with the school curriculum in Ontario.
The page also sets chaperone ratios. Early Learning (ages 2-4) and Grades K-3 need 1 adult chaperone for every 5 students, Grades 4-8 need 1 for every 15, and Grades 9-12 need 1 for every 20. Additional chaperones, meaning more than the required ratio, are charged the student rate of $8 each for a half-day program and $16 each for the full day.
One rule is worth knowing before you collect permission slips: the page says no refunds or changes to group numbers are permitted on the day of your visit.
What The Programs Look Like
The program list runs from a 45-minute Early Learners program, From Patterns to People, where students listen to a story about Mehndi and create their own Mehndi designs drawn from the museum’s patterns, to 2-hour programs for older grades. Another Early Learners program, Shapes and Pinch Pots, runs 1 hour, and students make their own pinch pot. In the Pattern Play programs, students design and create hexagon clay tiles. For Grades 9 to 12, the World of Fashion program runs 2 hours, and students design a garment for a historical ruler in a friendly competition.

The plan your visit page says admission includes access to all Museum gallery spaces. The admission table lists adults at $10 and youth 25 and under as free, and it lists seniors 65 and over and students at $10 too. The page asks you to have supporting identification, such as a student card or driver’s license, ready for verification on arrival to confirm your admission discount eligibility.
The page lists two more price breaks. It says to enjoy free admission every Wednesday evening from 4 to 8 pm, presented by BMO. It also says PRESTO card holders save 20% off general admission and 10% off at the Museum Shop.
What We Couldn’t Confirm
The on-site field trips page has one teacher line, placed right after the fees: it says teachers with a valid OCT card gain free admission. It doesn’t say whether that applies only to teachers who come with a booked school program or also to a teacher visiting alone, and the admission table has no teacher category, so we haven’t treated it as a standing teacher discount. It also doesn’t say how the card is checked at the door. If you hold an OCT card, ask the museum before you count on it for a visit outside a booked program.
