Frost Science doesn’t list a teacher price on day tickets. What it sells is an Educator Membership for $35 a year that includes free museum general admission and one free Frost Planetarium show per visit for one adult cardholder. It’s for certified Pre-K to 12th grade educators at accredited public and private schools located in Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and Monroe Counties in Florida, so the offer stops at those four county lines.
If you teach in one of those counties and you’ve been wanting a weekend under the planetarium dome with your own family, the card is a low-cost way to start. Registration happens in person at the museum, which means one planned stop with your school ID in hand.
How To Get The Frost Science Teacher Discount
The Educator Membership page says to visit the Membership Priority Window at the onsite Frost Science Ticket Center during regular operating hours with your current school educator I.D. That window is the only way to register the page describes, and the page doesn’t mention an online form.
Proof of current school year employment is required. The page names three things that won’t work: a school website, a health insurance card or a class syllabus. It also says verification is valid for one full year.
What The Membership Includes
For one adult cardholder, the page lists free general admission and one free Frost Planetarium show per visit, plus discounts on parking, Food@Science and the Science Store on every visit. Invitations and guest privileges for select programming and exhibition previews come with it too.
A footnote on the page spells out what’s left out: the ASTC Passport, and any discount on camps, educational programs or additional tickets. If you’re bringing your kids or a friend, the page promises them no price break, and a camp registration isn’t discounted either.
Who Counts As A Teacher
The membership page words it as “Certified Pre-K to 12th grade” educators at accredited public and private schools located in the four counties. The membership FAQ adds that the individual must be a teacher or school director for a certified Pre-K-12 public or private school within one of them. The line is drawn by where your school is, not where you live.
The pages don’t say whether “certified” describes you or your school. If you work somewhere that doesn’t fit a standard public or private school, ask first: the FAQ says a purchase by someone who doesn’t meet the qualifications won’t be honored. The membership page lists membership@frostscience.org and 305-434-9600 for questions.
Renewing And Upgrading
The $35 fee is annual, and the FAQ says you have to provide verification of employment each year to renew. Educator Memberships don’t automatically renew, so put the renewal on your own calendar. If you later want a bigger card, the page says active educator members can convert to a family membership level of their choice with a $35 credit toward the higher level.
Visiting Without The Membership
On the plan-your-day page, the Discounts / Offers section lists free admission for active US military and veterans, and $5 off Explorer Tickets for seniors 62 and older. There’s no teacher line there. For a class trip, the same page says Frost Science offers group discounts, so a field trip is a separate conversation from the individual card.
What We Couldn’t Confirm
The membership page doesn’t describe signing up online, and it doesn’t say whether free general admission covers special exhibitions. It also doesn’t give hours for the Membership Priority Window beyond “regular operating hours,” so call before you drive over.
Q&A

The pages tie the membership to the school: accredited public and private schools located in Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and Monroe Counties.

Can my family come in free with my card?
The membership is for one adult cardholder, and the page says it doesn’t include a discount on additional tickets.
Does it cover Frost Science camps?

Does it renew by itself?
No. The FAQ says Educator Memberships don’t automatically renew, and that verification of employment is needed each year.
